Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm beer 110F/43C
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg, beaten

Instructions:

Warm the beer and honey together in a bowl

Add the yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until it starts to foam

Roll out the oats, whole wheat flour, brown sugar, and salt in a large bowl

Mix the yeast, butter, and egg together, then add them to the dry ingredients

Mix it together until a dough forms

For about 5 minutes, knead the dough on a floured surface until it is smooth and springy

To make the dough double in size, put it in a bowl that has been greased and cover it with a kitchen towel

Let it rise for one to two hours

Turn on your oven and heat it up to 375F 190C

Roll out the dough and cut it into 8 equal pieces

Make buns out of them and put them on a baking sheet that has parchment paper on it

The buns should be baked in a hot oven for twenty to twenty-five minutes, or until they are golden brown

Take them out of the oven and set them on a wire rack to cool

Cut the buns in half and use them to make your favorite burger
